Event Plotting Post: The Walls of Jericho

Greetings, residents of the Meadous and vistors! Our 4th Wall event is right around the corner. To help facilitate this, we’ve pulled together some world descriptions and FAQs that should help anyone coming to visit the Meadous and surrounding godling lands get situated. For this event, We the Lost will be allowing:
  • Straight from Canon Characters
  • CRAU Characters
  • CRAU or Straight from Canon Characters that have been AU’d into a Godling Realm

TL;DR - We the Lost is having a 4th Wall Event. It will take place ICly over a two-week period and open up seven additional godling realms to explore. Any and all characters are welcome for this event, be they straight from canon, CRAU, or CRAU’d into a godling realm.

THE WALLS OF JERICHO

The Events Calendar post for the plot is HERE

First and foremost, what is this event? We the Lost is a CRAU Slice of Life game set in the realm of a young godling. Every young godling in the WtL-verse develops a world unique to them and pulls people in to populate it and help them grow. Each godling is influenced by their ‘flock,’ although they all have some basic personality traits that help them make their initial flock selection. The characters in WtL have so far given their godling a name: Zephyr, and a form that changes with the seasons.

Godling worlds are small to start and they expand as the power of the godling expands. There is also a barrier placed around each world, something that separates the godlings’ pocket universes from one another and protects the population from the dangers that run rampant between the worlds. Once a god is mature enough, their barrier will come down. Until that happens, though, the wall is kept in place, holding the inhabitants in and the rest of the world out.

On January 30th, an event on the plane of the gods will shatter the barriers between worlds, breaking down the walls and exposing nearby godling realms to one another as well as the spaces between.

This event will have three effects:
  1. There will be an unexpected and unmanageable ‘pull’ out in the multi-verse that will drag in characters straight from canon or from other games and drop them into unsuspecting godling lands.
  2. Characters already within godling realms will be ‘flung’ across their own plane and may wind up in a different godling world than the one they started in.
  3. Travel between worlds will be possible.

This effect will last for two weeks (until February 13th) when the god plane will sort itself out, the barriers will be restored, everyone from the godling worlds will be put back in the right place, and anyone brought straight from canon or another game will be returned ‘home.’

The godlings will be frantically trying to sort out the situation on the god plane with the older gods and will be largely unavailable. However, they may check in now and again. More information on each of the gods and their worlds is provided below. the worlds open during this event will include:
  • The Meadous - Realm of Zephyr - Flock Qualities: Lost
  • Ajras - Realm of an Unnamed Godling - Flock Qualities: Musical, Upbeat, Adventurous
  • Midnight - Realm of an Unnamed Godling - Flock Qualities: Nocturnal, Dual Natures, Hidden Sides
  • The Sunset Circus - Realm of an Unnamed Godling - Flock Qualities: Fearful, Young, Misfits
  • Samudra - Realm of an Unnamed Godling - Flock Qualities: Unique, Flashy, Prideful, Confident
  • The Wild West - Realm of Ara - Flock Qualities: Inventors, Healers, Builders
  • Aria - Realm of Lalilia - Flock Qualities: Caregivers, Parents, Builders
  • Willowhispers - Realm of Tyvn - Flock Qualities: Artists, Misanthropes, Tech Savvy

WtL DOES NOT have a network comm. To facilitate communication for this event, a universal ‘Bulletin Board’ will be put up where people in different realms will be able to communicate.

Ophelia is from Brutal Legend. A video game from 2009 that is all about heavy metal. Different factions represent different genres. Ophelia leads a faction of her own devoted to goth metal. Her army is composed of zombies with fringes, spurned brides, guys who puke rats and exploding babies. It is very much a loving humorous tribute to heavy metal.

Ophelia is a long time resident of WillowWhispers. She's been here from the beginning. A vengeful woman made up of ink and heavy metal. She's mellowed out after living in the world so long. So she's not quite as murderous as she used to be. She's genuinely caring towards misfits and outcasts, taking them under her wing and befriending complete weirdos. People who cross her will be electrocuted tho. She still loves her some violence and drowning people.

When she finds out Eddie Riggs is around, she'll go lurking to try and MAYBE murder him (since I also play Eddie that won't happen, fft).

If Ophelia gets along with misfits and outcasts, she might get along with Rin? They've both been in Willowhispers since the beginning, so maybe Ophelia fished Rin out of the mud before Rin had figured out where the deeper spots were?

Plus, if Ophelia likes monstery stuff, for the first few months of her stay here, Rin will have still had to feed off of the energy if humans/sapient beings. So there's the possibility that Ophelia helped her find a few victims (or became a victim herself, if she's the sort to volunteer for nonlethal (but admittedly painful) energy feedings).

Keep in mind that this is something that'd only need to happen like twice a month for the first three months, and then Rin would've been able to wish away the hunger. But it's a potentially fun and/or rocky start for their CR?

suicide attempt mention, cw

I definitely can see them getting along pretty well, haha. Ophelia always rescued her fellow man back home, here she still falls into the habit. So she'd probably gently fish Rin out with her weird inky tendrils and check on her. Try to play aloof generally nasty but falls flat. Her main source of sourness isn't here so she's kind of learned to DEAL.

She'll genuinely be fascinated by it, probably offer up some help after Rin explained it to her. Be a bit macabre and wonder if this would kill her. (Since she jumped into a river in an attempted suicide and came out undead.)

It could definitely kill her! Rin's been a goblin for a couple months now so she's just getting used to needing to drain peoples' energies.

If you want, Rin could accidentally have killed her one of the first couple times and felt absolutely awful about it? And then any time after that she'd either get energy from someplace else or just be super careful when she gets it from Ophelia.

Also, as discussed on plurk: These two are gonna be roommates and it's going to be terrible.

Yesss, I am down for accidental death. Ophelia would take the whole dying thing really well. Since it was an accident on Rin's part she's not exactly going to be wrathful over it. She'd come back shrugging going 'Well, you warned me. Guess I played with fire, huh?' People she actually likes can get away with accidentally killing her at least once. Especially since Tyvn brings folks back.

The worst roommates ever. Ophelia smokes inside on occasion, loudly plays guitar and just draws on the chalk walls some redonk song lyrics.

She would be SO APOLOGETIC ABOUT IT THOUGH. She hates killing people, and she was so relieved to not be in the place that made her do it anymore. ;;

As far as roommate shenanigans go, Rin has definitely picked up Ophelia's smoking habit, and the walls to her room are all lines with anatomy/posture reference sketches, or just like. Detailed chalk murals of twisted and warped human bodies, because that's canonically her aesthetic.

Rin goes along with Delsin and Ophelia's escapades. She doesn't really participate in the violence and refusals to be governed, but at the same time doesn't really mind them so much. She's sort of used to awfulness, and she enjoys their company so it's worth putting up that kind of stuff so long as she gets to maintain her primary means of socialization. She's actually kind of terrified of being all alone - and by the time she's gotten over that fear, she'll have undoubtedly bonded with Ophelia and Delsin.

She will want to have a talk with them about this whole "anarchy" situation though - if only to try to get some reassurance that they'll both stick up for her even if there aren't any rules.

Ophelia just slowly shrugs and is like EH A BETTER ATTEMPT THAN I MADE AT DEATH.

lol these two as roommates. wowie. Ophelia enjoys Rin's artwork and thoroughly encourages her. Considers her and Delsin the best in the whole place. Will talk them up or challenge people on their behalf. A weird big sister figure who is disgustingly goth.

Yeah, she will def have to talk with them about the whole anarchy is gr8t angle. Ophelia will be like 'If anyone crosses you, they're dead :)' completely serious. She is secretly a huge fussy nerd under all the death goo and bad attitude (She legit risks her life in canon to rescue enslaved women/AGGRESSIVELY protective of them).

Ah, good! Rin enjoys having a weird goth big sister - and the encouragement is definitely not a one way thing. If Ophelia ever decides to do on-stage performances, Rin will come to every single one. Passion about a particular subject is a super cool trait to have, and Rin will always show up to show her support in that regard. Initially, she shows up just for Ophelia, but as time goes on she definitely develops a taste for black metal eventually (although probably not a particularly refined taste beyond just liking most of what Ophelia plays). Prrrobably won't pick up any of Oph's tastes in fashion, though.

And that is good! Because Rin has already died once in Ryslig (twice, actually, but by the point I'm taking her from it'll only have been once) and it is not something she wants to repeat. While she's actually very capable of defending herself in a one-on-one- fight in theory, fighting is generally something she avoids doing if at all possible and she'll be very relieved that her friends will be there to help if push comes to shove.

They both r weenies and end up really helping each other out. I approve wholeheartedly. Ophelia probably would try some shows out of stubbornness. She can play pretty well when not focused on fighting with the power of heavy metal.

She would be super happy Rin was present since how do u people. (Rin can enjoy music such as this.) Good choice, Ophelia is kind of a blue inky loser. Never wears anything else period. Any closet space is used for Rin's ties.

ffft, she can definitely rely on Ophelia at least jumping in on every fight. Fisticuffs goth woman commence. Likely got to see Ophelia show off all her heavy metal powers more than once (summoning her hearse, electrocuting people with her guitar, etc). Ophelia knows Rin is very capable, stands down when she knows Rin actually wants to fight anything.

My nerd and your heavy metal lady need to be friends. She'll try to help you murder Eddie, dude. What are friends for?

yes and yes. also yes.

With how great they got along in the IC card game, they're definitely awful buddies. Probably helped each other avoid getting punished for dropping things on their enemies. They're just genuinely feeding each others shitty habits.

You've made Thorne into a honestly more terrible person than she could have been. Which is great! She somehow got pulled hard onto the road to redemption in her ACTUAL game, so a horrible, horrible (but still somehow nice and friendly?) version in Whillowhisp is a-ok with me.

[personal profile] thegirlwhodrowned 2016-01-27 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
Ophelia is just a bad influence all around (She doesn't want to admit there is a good person under all the ink, lol). Generally indulges Thorne's bad whims for fun. Both give poor Tyvn a headache. Poor ghostie. They both know they can be awful together when it's a step too far for anyone else.

You can also bet if anyone talks shit about Thorne somehow, Ophelia will make them regret it. OVER PROTECTIVE INK SISTER COMMENCE.
