Thanks to helpful player comments, we've been told the plot hasn't been expanded upon enough. Thus, let me tell you what we have in mind!
As stated before, the enlarged walls are casting a large shadow. The shadow grows bigger based on the time of day and the longer it lasts the more dangerous it is on the landscape.
Some plants and smaller animals caught under the shadow can and will start to wilt/get sick. Zephyr's understanding of reality affects the in game world, this also means their fear of what could attack the village is cast in the shadow itself. Characters who linger in the shadow will be affected by it to some degree. They will either grow sick, uncertain, nervous. How badly this affects your character is up to you.
The shadow itself is currently being cast over the forest behind Cream Puff way and the edge of the neighborhood itself. The shadow's length will grow a bit longer every three days. When the status effect kicks in, animals will start to leave the forest and lurk around the village itself as well. Enjoy pastel elks dancing on your roof.
As of July 13th 2014, this status effect of the wall will start alongside the shadow growing longer. The effects will not be immediate or drastic, but noticeable. It will grow stronger as time passes. Characters will begin acting out to some degree. Some with bad tempers might attack, some will lash out emotionally, some will just feel unease, some will get sick. Players are given free reign with this so they can choose how their character reacts.
Zephyr built this wall due to their own fear of what Pai has wrought, of what the outside world is. With this fear comes the walls closing in tighter and raising higher. Player interactions with one another and Zephyr matter. If players can convince the young god things are well by helping one another/resisting the status effect or saving one another, saving plants or animals, they can avoid the godling's countdown. This will not be easy as the walls shadow begins growing bigger with each passing few days. The emotions in the shadow and lengthening of the wall is not something Zephyr is not ICly aware of. So they in turn are being equally affected by the out pouring of player character emotions and their own. Zephyr will not lash out at characters personally nor attack them, just hide as a result. Character actions will help summon Zephyr and calm them down enough to pull the wall back to its original length. Directly contacting Zephyr can be done by posting to the bulletin board, or using the new mailbox added to the board for Zephyr's private mail.
What is the countdown exactly? It is the tipping point of when the young gods fear takes over their rational side and turns the village into something infinitely safer than people. Animals.
Characters will slowly start to turn into animals the closer they get to the actual date of the count down. If they cannot convince Zephyr they are safe/they are not like Pai- they will become animals.Body horror elements of this event can be ignored for player comfort as well. Sending letters to Zephyr, prayer, helping one another and fixing the land are ways to ensure the countdown is delayed/stopped.
If we reach that point of the countdown finishing, Kelt and Warren will step in to take over and reset the in game world to its original incarnation. Which means they alongside Zephyr will co-run the Meadous.
As a whole this means Zephyr will not be purely influenced by character actions any longer. Their siblings will have a greater more prominent effect on the character's development. Zephyr will step back to heal themselves while Kelt & Warren take over a majority of the landscape. Characters will affect Warren and Kelt more heavily than Zephyr with this change. Zephyr was becoming god of the lost and needy, but now who will they be when sharing their world with their siblings?
OOCLY players have been giving two weeks warning for this plot. The event begins July 13th and ends August 1st.
