Endgame: Onward to the Next Chapter

Seven years. You've found friends, healed old wounds, gotten into petty squabbles with neighbors, and saved entire worlds and civilizations. Along the way you've worked together to raise what was once just a little entity with bad spelling into a full-fledged god who learned their kindness and their zeal from the characters you, our players, brought into this world. A game is nothing without its players, and we thank you for joining us on this journey no matter how long or how short your time here.

With the game's anniversary upon us and the successful rescue of a slew of gods and their worlds, it is time for us to say goodbye as your moderators. However, though this chapter of the story has come to an end, We the Lost and the world of the Meadous remain open for your use as a sandbox. We hope you'll remember your time in the game fondly and take advantage of the IC community for ongoing open play.

Once again, our co-mods and helper-mods through the years deserve a special thank you: Ink, Amanda, Michi, Flurry, QV, and Hydok. You made this all possible.

The Future

The OOC

Starting on September 1, 2020 We the Lost will be an open world sandbox where CRAU and straight from canon characters are welcome. Anyone may join the comms and post to them without mod approval. We would request that anyone joining and/or continuing to play here observe the original Rules laid out for this community and just your standard RP etiquette. We'd like WtL to remain a welcoming little fantasy adventure/SoL place for folks who want to play around in a gentler corner of the RP multiverse!

The IC

Below are a list of things characters can expect moving forward from an IC perspective:

• CRAU characters may find their way to the Meadous via becoming Lost and may wake up in a house in the Meadous or in another godling realm. Feel free to pick an address you fancy if you're starting in the Meadous!
  
  
• Straight from Canon characters may find their way to the Meadous via being brought in by someone else through the portal that Zephyr created or by any other Shenanigans based explanation you can come up with for them to be there. The gods will not be directly pulling people who are straight from canon into their world, though. For those brought in by friends, a house will be created for them in the Meadous, should they want to stay.
  
  
• You are more on your own. The knitted together world will begin running based more on its own power now and not those of the individual godlings. There will still be magical effects, like some restocking materials/foods and magically generated water/waste collection, but this new world is one where characters will need to work on providing more for themselves. Luckily, there are plenty of people who can help with that!
  
  The gods, themselves, will also tend to be more hands off and less directly communicative with their flocks. They will still be around and reach out occasionally, but they're not going to be immediately available at all times.
  
  
• Expansion of NPC races. NPCs like the Wasp and Beetle tribes mentioned in the Setting will begin expanding out into the wider world. PCs are likely to encounter all manner fantasy-style races across the world. Anyone is welcome to make these up for the adventures they want to create for themselves and their characters.
  
  
• Zephyr's mission is finding Lost Gods and their worlds. Characters who stick around or visit the Meadous may be contacted by Zephyr to assist with rescuing a Lost God and world. As identified in Part 2 of our endgame, there are certain parameters needed to be met to rescue a god. Our Personalize a God post has examples of what gods and their worlds might be like, as well as obstacles characters might encounter when undertaking a world rescue.
  
  
• Life in the Meadous will continue to be generally idyllic. But there might be the occasional wash of monster attacks. There are still creatures roaming the lands. They can be vanquished or potentially befriended. It's up to characters how they deal with threats. The gods will generally intervene directly if anything is threatening the core center of what used to be their individual worlds.
  
  
• Worship for the gods will enhance their strength. Gods live and breathe based on belief. Those who directly worship the gods will enhance their powers and increase the influence of their chosen god in the world.
  
  
• Color is here to stay. Color will be out and about in this new world, whispering to folks who might happen by it. There will be Color trees and wisps of it that can be encountered and collected to enhance abilities.

Obviously, the mechanics of using points and putting in a request won't be a thing anymore. But can residents still make wishes, or is that something that Zephyr's grown out of now?

Residents will still be able to make wishes! They will only be able to accommodate more personal requests, though. Not things like changes to the landscape/addition of biomes. Characters will be able to find any type of biome they wish out in the expanded world, though.

Is space exploration as mentioned here still doable, if a character were to build/wish for a spaceship (and is a spaceship too big of a thing for a character to wish for?)?
