Event: The Great Pumpkin Games (Event Plotting)

On the 25th of October, residents of the Meadous will wake to a note from Zephyr at their bedside along with a delicious pumpkin-shaped snack (players choice, but it's probably going to be baked goods). The note will read as follows:

Hi Everyone,

It's Halloween soon. I know it's one those favorite holidays for a lot of people in the Meadous, so I thought we could do a thing in the run-up to it! Each day we're going to have an activity for the Great Pumpkin Games all the way up to Halloween when I'll dress things up for a big costume party! Check your closets and wardrobes. I think you'll find something you'll like in there. =;3

THE GREAT PUMPKIN GAMES

This is a week-long event that will feature mini-events for characters to participate in. The events include:

• 25th - Pumpkin Carving - What it says on the tin! A pumpkin carving station with all of the necessary tools will be set up at the Playground.
  
• 26th - Pumpkin Chuck Competition - So, those reject carved pumpkins? Time to make very good use of them. Supplies will be laid out in the meadow south of the village to build miniature catapults (these can be kept for nefarious purposes after the end of the event for the enterprising), and chuck pumpkins toward targets in the distance. Those who participate will receive a Halloween themed plush toy back at their house in an animal form that they like.
  
• 27th - Wild Horse Tag - NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. There are yellow ribbons tied to the wild horses roaming around the Meadous. Can you get the ribbon without harming the horse? Telekinesis is cheating. But there's nothing that says you can't work together to horse wrangle. Those who manage to snatch a ribbon will find they get a temporary ability to manipulate one primary element (e.g., earth, water, fire, air)
  
• 28th - Midnight Battle of the Balloons - Do battle with your fellow Meadousians. Tie a pair of glow-in-the-dark balloons to your ankles and give chase! The goal is to stomp the balloons of all other players you find and reign supreme over all! For those who lose both their balloons, they'll be temporarily marked as 'ghosts' who can help or hinder other players, but who can't actually do any more stomping.
  
• 29th - The Pass It On Ghost Story - A campfire-style affair. The characters will gather around and be given an initial prompt. From there, one after the other, each character adds a line or two in turn and builds a (hopefully) scary story together.
  
• 30th - Graveyard Scavenger Hunt and Maze - A graveyard has replaced the pumpkin maze for the night. There's a table with a scavenger hunt sheet that characters can play with as they traverse a maze in pairs. They're also provided with a polaroid camera to capture their scavenger hunt items. It's not objects you're picking up, but photo ops. Maybe you need to pose with a zombie. Maybe you have to pet a black cat. Pics or it didn't happen!
  
• 31st - Haunting Halloween Party - The Meeting Tent will be taken over for a big party featuring costumes, a collage of the scavenger hunt photos (maybe your most embarrassing ones), food, drinks, and quite a lot of monster mashing.

Which Mod is running this plot?
Terri is in charge of this plot with support from the other mods.

May I opt out?
Yes! Your character can simply not participate.

Can we talk to Zephyr?
Zephyr will be available through the usual means.

Can my character win a particular event?
Yes! But it would typically be a win between a small group of characters. Players can work this out between themselves. Primarily, the games are about building connections rather than winning, though. At least that's... how Zephyr imagined it. You people are competitive sometimes.

What can we keep after?
Carved pumpkins, catapults, the polaroid pictures from the scavenger hunt (though the cameras will disappear), and the Halloween costumes. Along with any prizes.

House is HERE for Halloween. I'll probably be having him participate in a majority off these events and have a TL on the event itself. I'm especially interested in the Pumpkin Chuck for his catapult building endeavors and the Graveyard Scavenger Hunt if anyone wants to team up with him for Polaroid photo hijinks! He will still have his Heart, Jasna, with him. A friendly-ish crow who's more likely to say what he's actually feeling at any given moment than he is. House's ability to use sarcasm has also been wished away. THANKS, SHERLOCK. And that's something I want to play with.

Watson will be especially interested in the collaborative story and definitely joining in that. I'd also love to get him embroiled in the Wild Horse Tag, failing miserably to catch a horse. Also, if you want someone to show you how to carve a Pumpkin, Jon's your man. Let's do knives with the surgeon!

Ok so if I have time between shifts I absolutely want Mettaton to compete in the Pumpkin Chuck.

He can be his own catapult if he's allowed to be honestly.

Harley is especially down for pumpkin chucking, the balloon battle, scavenger hunt, and costume party. She's also going trick-or-treating during this time and will likely be stopping by your house to demand candy. She'll be dressed up as a gumball machine.

My only warning is that I may be super slow thanks to RL Halloween festivities. But I clearly need more Halloween in my life, so let's backtag forever?
