EVENT: Seven Years Bad Luck (Plotting)
On the 9th of September, residents of the Meadous will wake to a note from Zephyr at their bedside along with a personalized hand mirror.
Hi Everyone,
A little while ago, Stephen made a wish for a Mirror Dimension after explaining to me what it was and how it should work. The Mirror Dimension looks just like this one, but anything you do in it won't change the Meadous proper. So if you need to get your frustration out or if you want to do some SERIOUS sparring, you can use that. Everything will reset once you leave the Mirror Dimension, so there won't be any damage! =:3 You can still hurt each other, though, and I can still see what's happening. Please don't seriously hurt each other unless you agreed to a spar with those kinds of consequences or you're kismesis. I'll be there to stop anyone dying still.
I know it's really only sorcerers who are supposed to be able to get in with their sling rings, but Stephen's the only sorcerer and that seems lonely. =:( So, I want everyone else to be able to experience it! Whenever you want to enter the mirror dimension in the Meadous, just crack the mirror that I've left for you. Don't worry! The mirror will fix itself once you're in the Mirror Dimension. To get out, just crack the mirror again.
I've put some extra books on magic in the library so that anyone who wants to study up on this type of magic and how to manipulate the Mirror Dimension can. I think it takes a really long time and a lot of practice to get anywhere, though.
I've never created a parallel dimension before, but I hope you like it.

This event will give characters full access to the Mirror Dimension wished for by Dr. Stephen Strange. The hand mirrors characters receive will vary in style and size, but will generally be small enough to fit in a pocket. These are meant to be easily portable for your characters, but go wild in designing them, otherwise.
This is an ongoing feature of the Meadous and characters will have access to the Mirror Dimension at any time following this event. While Zephyr only listed off the most obvious use for the Mirror Dimension (being able to destroy things and not mess up the parallel 'real' world), another thing that characters might find they're able to do is spy on other people. Someone in the Mirror Dimension can watch people on the other side without those people being able to sense or feel the one in the Mirror Dimension. However, real world voices will be extremely muffled and difficult to make out short of the characters on that side shouting at each other. Use this power wisely, Meadous...

May I opt out?
Yes! Your character can simply not use their mirror.
Can we talk to Zephyr?
Zephyr will be available through the usual means, as needed.
Can I kill someone in the mirror dimension?
You can. Characters who do this will find that the punishment is the same for killing someone in the real world. They'll also very likely lose access to the mirror dimension. If someone is upset, Zephyr suggests wrecking their house in the Mirror Dimension to get out the aggression that way. No harm, no foul, then! =:3
Can I use another character's mirror?
This is a discussion you should have with the other mun. In general, yes, it will work. However, the mirror will always return to the original owner after a short time. You probably don't want to enter the Mirror Dimension with someone else's mirror and not your own. The mirror will disappear and return to its owner.
Can I get trapped in the Mirror Dimension?
Technically, yes. Practically, no. If a Meadous resident is locked in the Mirror Dimension for more than a day (without alerting Zephyr to a reason for this), they will find that their mirror appears in their pocket. They'll be able to get out that way.
Can I manipulate the Mirror Dimension?
Manipulation of the Mirror Dimension requires a significant amount of time and training. While characters should be able to interact with things in the Mirror Dimension like they would in the real world, only those with sorcerer powers will be able to manipulate it.
Can I wish for sorcerer powers?
Due to how this realm and the powers have been explained to them, Zephyr will not be auto-granting sorcerer powers. Characters will need to engage in intensive study and practice for a minimum of six months before being able to obtain basic sorcerer powers. These abilities will OOCly need to be wished for with a standard 600 point power granting wish, but ICly will manifest as the results of training, if the character decides to go that route.
