EVENT: Now You're Playing With Portals (Plotting)
Starting on the 8th of April, a new temporary feature will be added to the Meadous. The residents will wake to a note from Zephyr at their bedside, along with a blank map of the maze. The note will read as follows:
Hi Everyone,
Teacher wants me to keep practicing different ways to stretch my powers, so I wanted to try some of the new kinds of magic that I've seen. Everyone has so many different things that they can do, and none of it seems to work the same way. It's really interesting! =:3
I didn't want to practice on my own, so I made a maze for everyone. It's not like a normal maze where you walk around and try to find your way out. There are portals that let you jump to different rooms! The paths skip around a lot, and it's really easy to get lost, so you should bring a friend along before you go in. If you get stuck or can't find your way back out, just say "Zephyr, please let me out of your maze!" and I'll make a new portal to let you out, okay?
I'm going to give everyone a map, so you can keep track of what you found. Anything you write on it will appear on all the others! Your goal is to get to the center of the maze, past all of the puzzles and riddles I've left for you. There's a really cool prize waiting there for everyone. I made it myself. =:3
I hope you have fun!
Love,
Zephyr

NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH PORTALS
The Events Calendar post for the plot is HERE
This event will run for two weeks and involves a collaborative setting, where characters will be working together to reach the center of Zephyr's maze. Characters will split off into groups of 2 or 3, according to players' choice. The details on how to discover new rooms and interact with the maze will be listed in the threads below. Once the maze is solved, the center of the maze will open and all participants will receive the event's reward!
The maze can be entered at the gaps in the outer wall, which are found at following locations on the map: A2, A7, C1, C8, F1, F8, H2, and H7. When starting your groups, try to space yourselves out if you can!
Most of the riddle and puzzle solving will be done OOCly, which will allow characters to play it out ICly. Feel free to contribute OOCly, even if your character wouldn't figure things out ICly. But also keep in mind that we want everyone to get a chance to participate, so please don't post too many answers! If you get one right, wait until tomorrow to make more guesses. There will be plenty of time for everything to be solved.
Also, please do not post anything to the Room Descriptions, Main Map, or Changeable Maze Structures threads! I will be using those threads to update information about the maze as the plot progresses.
Which Mod is running this plot?
Michi is in charge of running this plot and will be updating the information as exploration progresses.
May I opt out?
Yes! Your characters can simply avoid the maze.
Can we talk to Zephyr?
Zephyr is available for discussion via the bulletin board, as usual.
Can we go over the maze walls?
Zephyr knows how their flock likes to cheat. Anyone trying to go over the walls of the maze (either from within the maze or outside of it) will find that the walls expand upwards indefinitely. They're very similar to the outside Walls around the Meadous, except there's no psychic shock when touching these.
What can we write on the map?
Your character can write anything they want. The main map that updates here OOCly will have any important structures noted on it, but the characters can use the margins to scratch short messages to the other groups or to make notes about certain rooms. Those can be posted in this thread, if you want!
Can we take anything in or out of the maze? Can we disassemble parts of the maze? Can we break it?
Your characters can bring items into and out of the maze. However, Zephyr has made sure that major structures can not be broken or taken apart. That wouldn't be fair to the other groups who are trying to complete the maze. Any attempts to do so will meet with an invisible force field.
What prizes will we get for getting to the center of the maze?
There will be a special magical prize available for every participant. The prize will be revealed at the end of the event.
Please feel free to ask below if you have any other questions that we haven’t thought of!

(Do not respond to these threads.)
Riddle Doors
The kinds of doors that you may encounter are:
If you would like to solve a fetch or puzzle door, please list the Room (A1, B7, etc), the door position (North, East, etc), and the item or puzzle solution in the Changes subthread below.
Turning Mirrors
These mirrors are ornate and doubled-sided, standing nearly 7 feet tall. They have handles along the side where they can be turned clockwise or counter-clockwise on their base. Aside from spinning them, they are unmovable from their position.
If you plan to move one, please indicate the Room (A1, B7, etc) and Position (|, /, \, or -) that you are moving it to in the Changes sub-thread below.
Statues
These are large wooden statues of various animals, approximately 5 feet tall. There are a number of wooden buttons set into each statue. The kind of animal and the location of its buttons can be found in the room descriptions below. As you might have guessed, these buttons correlate with the button doors. Unless a statue button is pressed after the one on its corresponding riddle door, the button will pop back up and not remain pressed. Door first, then statue. If the correct combination is pressed, the button door will open.
If you would like to try a combination, please indicate the room of the door (A1, B7, etc), the room of the statue, and the anatomical location of the statue button in the Changes subthread below.
Lasers
These are large mechanical devices with a on/off button on the back. When turned on, they will emit a steady beam of light in a specific color. They can be pointed at any of the other 3 walls/doors in the room. When trying to determine which direction the beam will go, you may assume that the beam of light will pass through open doorways and portals uninhibited, and all mirrors will reflect the light at a right angle. We're being approximate here, so the light will only travel horizontal, vertical, or diagonal on the map. (If all else fails, just pick a laser and a direction and I'll show you where it goes.)
If you would like to turn on or direct a laser, please indicate the laser's room (A1, B7, etc) and the direction of the wall you're pointing it at (North, East, etc) in the Changes subthread below.
Changes and Room Discovery
This is also the place to discover new rooms! Each group can discover 1 new room per day. Extra rooms can be earned for every 10 comments reached in the group's thread, up to 2 per day! There is a limit of 3 new rooms per group per day, but any additional rooms earned can be rolled over to the next day. In order to reveal a new room, you must have access to it on the map either through an open doorway or a portal. You don't necessarily have to RP your characters walking into that room. If there are no new rooms to discover yet, you can hold on until one becomes available.
When portals are discovered, they will initially be unmarked. Once the other room is revealed on the map, I will mark both connected portals with a number to show that they're a matched pair. Feel free to discover rooms by going through unmarked portals as well!
Please post all maze changes under this thread! Separate sub-threads for each! Do not post them anywhere else!
