Mod Announcement: Changes to Activity Check for March, Onward

Hey Team,

As we've gotten a bit smaller and a bit slower, we've come to recognize that we need to make some changes to the AC system to streamline things for both us and players. Below are the new AC rules that will take effect for March 2020 and onward. Please fill in February AC as usual, according to the old rules.

What is this page?

This is where we will be keeping track of Activity Check posts from now on.

Activity is checked once each month. All activity date-stamped up to 11:59 PST on the last day of the AC month will count. Activity made after this cut-off point will not count towards the current AC. Activity will be checked by the 7th of the following month. You will have one week after the month ends to make any adjustments to your AC posts. We strongly request that you have your AC listed by then.

What do I need for AC?

Standard AC for players is 10 posts from your character, while the AC needed to clear a save is 15 posts. For mods, AC is 15 posts, and a cleared Save is 20 posts. These posts may be across up to 3 threads.

What posts count for an AC period?

The only thing that matters is the datestamp. It doesn't matter when the thread was started, the posts you're submitting just need to be from the current AC period. This is to continue to credit players who backtag old threads.

What about the points system for Wishes? How does that interact with AC?

It does not! AC and points for Wishes are considered entirely separate. Don't worry about connecting them. Players may continue to accrue, track, and use points for Wishes under the old Points system exactly as before, but AC no longer uses any of those points.

What if I'm going to be away for a while?

Anyone that has been officially on hiatus for at least a week during the month is given a pass for AC, provided that they did not pass on a hiatus or a save last month.

REMEMBER: The mod team doesn't want to search through the comm or plurk to look for hiatuses. So you must put your hiatus in the Hiatus Post before you leave.

If you need a hiatus longer than a month or backdate a hiatus due to an unexpected absence or emergency situation, please talk to us asap. We will try to work with you as best we can.

What if I don't have enough posts?

If you are having problems with activity for any reason, please PM us about it on the mod account. We're happy to talk it out with you and see if we can come up with a compromise. Please don't expect us to answer questions on plurk, as we may or may not see them.

Remember, you can also ask for a save if you need it. All we ask is that you make your normal AC plus an additional five posts for next month's AC.

What if I just joined the game?

Characters must be present for a full calendar month (from the first to the last day of the month) before we will require AC from them. Until then, they only need to leave a header for their character to pass AC! Enjoy your free month!

How do I post?

Step 1:
If you do not have a thread already, make a blank comment to this post with your character's name in the header. One character per thread. If you are new, this is all you need to do for your first AC.

Step 2:
Comment to your character's thread with their monthly AC. We have a form for you to use right here. Please include the AC month in the header.

You can edit the form to include descriptions if you want, but the URL link is necessary. Alternatively, you can tell us whether you intend to use a Save or a Hiatus to pass AC.

What's this about retirement?

Ready to settle a character down in the Meadous for good? Has your character wrapped up their arc, but you don't want to drop them? Why don't you check out our retirement page to see if they qualify? If you're approved, we'll mark your character as RETIRED on this page, and you'll never have to worry about AC for them again.

If there are any questions, feel free to shoot us a PM!
