Living The Dream info post
Greetings, residents of the Meadous! The winter holidays are nearly upon us, and with them come a few modifications to our Events Calendar. After discussing ideas for how to make things more exciting and open up our game for people to come and see what’s up with this misspelled meadows nonsense, we’ll be turning our December event into a 4th Wall-style event along with a Crossover with the most excellent folks at The Big Applesauce (
bigapplesauce). BA is a small, panfandom RP like WtL that’s set in a version of Manhattan where very strange things are happening under the watch of a shady government organization and an equally shady rebel group. The Rift often draws unconscious minds into dreams to test them out before bringing them to BA, and it’s the Rift that our young god Zephyr is going to end up accidentally tangoing with.
Please see below for further details on how this event is being modified!
LIVING THE DREAM
The Events Calendar post for the plot is HERE
First and foremost, what is this event? In lieu of the standard holiday party, Zephyr, the young godling in charge of the Meadous at We the Lost, will be creating a dream-sharing environment in which dreamers are able to set up their ‘ideal winter holiday.’ This can mean a Christmas or a New Year’s party, a Winter Solstice Celebration, a Leavings Party, a day of sledding, a murder spree in the snow… whatever your character personally would find enjoyable during the winter holiday season. Zephyr will frown and cringe at violence, but it’s all just imaginings and people will wake up unharmed. So, your characters will have their dream worlds (whether they’re from the Meadous or they’re 4th Wallers just visiting), and anyone participating in the event may wander into these varied dreamworlds or you might find yourself wandering into theirs!
Second, there has been a change of OOC dates associated with this event, though the IC dates will remain the same at We the Lost. Starting on December 13th we will be putting up a log and opening up the comms for people not in the WtL to partake in the dreaming activities generated by this event. Characters will not physically manifest in the WtL world, though; they will only be present in dreams. All fun and games, right? Well, it would be if that were the end of it.
You see, Zephyr’s been fiddling around with the fabric of reality to accomplish their desired outcome, gathering people together into dreams. In this process, they’ve piqued the interest of the Rift, a semi-sentient entity capable snatching people away from their native universes via dreams, as well as, physically. While Zephyr’s letting in all sorts of people to the dreams of those in the Meadous to increase their enjoyment, the Rift will be paying attention and on the day of The Big Applesauce’s monthly dream party (December 27th), it’s going to snatch all those dreaming minds out of the Meadous and over to its side of the multiverse. Due to timey wimey reasons, in the Meadous the transfer to the Big Applesauce side of things will occur ICly on December 31st. Everyone’s minds will get pulled back to their rightful place ICly on January 1st and Zephyr will close down the shared dreaming for fear of further influence from the Rift.
For characters, this means that you’ll have the chance for action on the WtL comms as well as the BA comms. Threads from this event in both comms will count for points for AC and wishing purposes at WtL.
For the Meadous log of this event, 4th Wall characters brought in must be CRAU. However, CRAU characters DO NOT have to be from The Big Applesauce to participate. We are doing a crossover with them, but the nature of Zephyr’s abilities and the Rift’s power will allow for CRAU characters from ANY game to participate. CRAU means that your character has participated in a game or long-term dressing room. The participation in a game may be brief, such as one of the BA’s dream parties or a canon 4th Wall Event at another game.
For The Big Applesauce log of this event, 4th Wall characters may be CRAU or brand new, per their dream party guidelines.
Check the comments below for a brief FAQ!
TL;DR - We the Lost is having a dream event that will act as both a crossover event with The Big Applesauce and a 4th Wall event. It will take place in two logs, one on the We the Lost comms and one at The Big Applesauce. Characters not associated with these games are welcome and encouraged to participate. For the WtL log, 4th Wall characters must be CRAU. For the Applesauce log, 4th Wall characters may be new or CRAU.

FAQ!
You may if you’d like! Perhaps Zephyr’s been working so hard that they just missed your character in their excitement to get things up and running in dreams.
Okay, wait… this is taking place in two different comms?
Yes!
Wait if I bring a character in for 4th wall shenanigans, they have to be CRAU?
Yes and no! We the Lost is a CRAU kind of party, best to keep things simple after all. Any characters brought to the log posted on the
How much CRAU does my character have to have to participate?
Any amount will do as long as it’s ICly part of an established game or Dressing Room! Have they participated in other 4th Wall events for other games? Have they maybe popped into one of Applesauce’s monthly dream parties? They are most welcome on the Meadous side of things! If you’re not certain, please just ask the mods!
Does my dream world have to look like the Meadous?
Nope, it’s a dream after all, it can look like anything that would pop into your character’s head.
If my character dies in a dream will they die in real life?!?!?
Yes. Yes, they will. They will wake to find themselves a few hours closer to that ultimate demise, that equalizer of all things: the grave. We are all of us food for worms and daisies eventually, are we not?
In reality, they’ll just wake up and be a bit confused if anything. What a strange dream! Clearly they need to not drink eggnog before bed.
If my character hurts someone in a dream will they be punished by Zephyr?
Nope. It’s a dream after all. Though Zephyr will peep disapprovingly at you. How rude.
Can my character move between dreams? How?
They can, indeed! The world of dreams is going to be connected thanks to Zephyr’s meddling, like a web with many paths leading to each person’s little dream bubble. Your character may deliberately leave a dream they’ve entered into by whatever means they have. Or perhaps they’ll only stumble, uncertain how to go about things. You can handwave the exact mechanics of how they tag around to various dreams.
Can my character cause mayhem in someone else’s dream?
Certainly! Dreams are dreams after all. Though that’s rather mean of them, Zephyr is just giving you the most disappointed face right now. Please also bear in mind that the owners of the dreams are the only ones who can alter the reality fabric of their dreams. Always be sure to check with the other player if you’re going to do something big, please!
Oh, cool! My character can change their dreams entirely?
Up to a point! They should remain holiday themed, and full dream world shifts are probably more the providence of characters who are experienced lucid dreamers or have special abilities related to dreams.
Will my character be aware that they’re dreaming?
That is up to you! They may be unaware or fully aware. Even when wandering into another’s dream, they might mistake it as their own. Alternatively, your character is free to point out to others that they’re in a dream. Whether or not the character believes you. Well… we’ll see.
What will characters be doing when awake?
Oh the usual, arguing on the bulletin board and wondering what is going on. Characters are free to contact Zephyr to try and piece together what is going on. This after all is something new and strange for the young godling as it is their flock. We encourage mass speculation and characters knocking their heads together to think things through.
What are Kelt, Warren & Ara doing during this?
They’re mostly keeping their eye out on Zephyr. They let Zephyr test new waters on their own until they need help. Come time for the event to end, you can expect the trio to step in and help Zephyr rein everything back in. A young god has many untapped powers, but no guidelines on how to properly use them after all.
I heard points mentioned. Do we tally our points the same way as usual with this event? Even when we’re tagging out on The Big Applesauce comm?
You do, indeed! Tagging a new character participating in the event will net you those sweet 20 points for new CR. Threads at 10+ comments will get you the usual. You may use any points earned on EITHER the We the Lost OR The Big Applesauce comms for this event for AC points or for wishing points.
So, what if I want to join We the Lost after participating in this?
Wonderful! Brilliant! We’d love to have you! If you app into and are accepted for WtL after participating in our 4th Wall/Crossover event, you’ll be able to count any points you’ve earned during the event toward your point totals. These can be used for AC for your first month or wishes.

I'm not on AIM too much just because of a wretchedly inconsistent Internet connection, but I'm at a.n.tuggle AT gmail DOT com on there (with the appropriate symbols put in that for an email address).

For the Big Applesauce, I am not entirely sure who I'll be bringing. Definitely tagging around with Hajime, possibly more with Jan depending on how picking him back up again goes, and possibly bringing tokusatsu muses I don't play with much into this. Basically, hit me up if you like Kamen Rider or Super Sentai and want a secondary Rider or sixth ranger to play with, because I got this.

Well I've already been tagging around a bit but on my end I've got Ienzo by way of Jarjammed/We the Lost running around so far and have plans to bring in Rocky Rickaby (
