Endgame: Onward to the Next Chapter

Seven years. You've found friends, healed old wounds, gotten into petty squabbles with neighbors, and saved entire worlds and civilizations. Along the way you've worked together to raise what was once just a little entity with bad spelling into a full-fledged god who learned their kindness and their zeal from the characters you, our players, brought into this world. A game is nothing without its players, and we thank you for joining us on this journey no matter how long or how short your time here.

With the game's anniversary upon us and the successful rescue of a slew of gods and their worlds, it is time for us to say goodbye as your moderators. However, though this chapter of the story has come to an end, We the Lost and the world of the Meadous remain open for your use as a sandbox. We hope you'll remember your time in the game fondly and take advantage of the IC community for ongoing open play.

Once again, our co-mods and helper-mods through the years deserve a special thank you: Ink, Amanda, Michi, Flurry, QV, and Hydok. You made this all possible.

Activity Check: June and a few notes!

Please respond here or on the AC Page to check-in for May. No need for activity proofs, just give us a shout that you're around.

Additionally, characters will have, by this point, noticed that something is wrong with the Meadous itself. Where the season should have shifted to summer on June 20th, the Meadous still seems to be in full spring bloom. Additionally, Zephyr does not appear to have had a chance to sweep away anything that turned up on the Bulletin Board. Due to ongoing IC events, they will not be getting to these things any time soon. They're a little busy trying to hold the fabric of reality together. They love and appreciate everyone for understanding.

Personalize a God

In preparation for endgame, the mods will be preparing a suite of gods for characters to rescue from across the multiverse. We are offering here the opportunity to have a god and challenges personalized for you for Part II of endgame. Fill in the form below and one of the mods will respond to you with a god, a world to rescue, and prompts for some of the challenges characters will encounter in their quest. We are offering the opportunity to personalize one god per character (if you have multiple characters, please fill in the form for each of them, individually).

Please fill in the form for your characters by 14 June, 11:59 PM PST. We will be responding with information from the 15 June to 4 July.

If you do not get a personalized god, DO NOT FRET! There will be opportunities to rescue other gods during endgame! This is just for folks who would like us to tailor a god for them.

Mod Announcement: Endgame

First and foremost, we'd like to thank everyone for their participation in the latest event, Penumbra. Characters were able to make their first successful rescue of a god from being Lost! The seed of the idea for this event has been in the works for roughly a year and half and marks the beginning of the final chapter for We the Lost.

We are entering endgame from this point forward and intend to wrap up the game and leave it as a sandbox for folks to play in at their leisure by August. This will be WtL's 7th anniversary, and we think that's a pretty good high point to end on. Endgame events will begin in mid-June and ICly involve:

Characters traveling to and through the Lost dimension.
Rescuing Lost gods (and potentially people) that have disappeared from across the multiverse.
Permanently opening the Meadous as a hub world for travel between different worlds/dimensions.
Zephyr growing from an adolescent to a mature god (don't worry, they'll still be small, cute, and fluffy; this is more a power change than a physical one.

Check HERE for more on all of the pieces that have come together for this. We hope it will help introduce concepts to newer players and jog memories for older players.

OOCly, the following changes will be made for endgame starting from this point forward:

Activity Check will now be a simple check-in.
Characters may make wishes (within reason) without needing to contribute points or receive mod approval. If you want to do something big like changing the setting or getting a fantastical magic item, please just shoot the mods a PM!
All previous residents of the Meadous are welcome to rejoin the comms and play out endgame with us, but we will be closing WtL to brand new applicants.

All of that said, we’d also like to extend a special thanks to our co-mods and helper mods through the years: Ink, Amanda, Michi, Flurry, QV, and Hydok. None of this would have been possible without them or all of you.

Hello, I’m Rams, and I haven’t been here for a while! Five years, give or take? 4th Wall events notwithstanding??

I return with Riku, hopefully in a better place this time. He’s gotten closure and grown up just a little, and maybe this time he can settle into the Meadous proper without getting all moody and withdrawn. Also, I hear there’s an ocean and interplanetary travel now, so that’s a plus for him!

I’m a bit shy, but I’m excited to try this thing again. I don’t really do plurk, but my discord is reflera#2112, or you can message me on here.

I'm Kiwi, and this is some old and obscure comic version of Espio the Chameleon from Sonic the Hedgehog, humanised and given a lovely dose of CRAU. Specifically, he is a Witches Reign (Final Fantasy VIII based game) and Carvaka (post-apocalypse sex game) CRAU...

He's been here before, and I did say I'd be back~ so I'm back! I am actually not sure how long it's been. A year, ish?

Hello, everyone! After, jeez, like a year and a half? Waspfire's home.

For those of you who aren't familiar with my girl: Psymagus Waspfire (originally played under her childhood name Ammond Raidie) grew up under a despotic interstellar regime that wanted to use her as a living spaceship engine, taught herself enough about the technology involved to come to the conclusion that she could build a better, more humane version, and then before she could really put that into action got whisked away to her first stop on what she insists on referring to as the Transuniversal Abduction Circuit to play SBURB at Jarjammed. She was one of the founding residents of the Meadous and has, previously, held some pride in never having gotten Unlost so that's a rug she's about to get yanked out from under her.

She's got a lot to catch up on, and also tends to have like three projects going at once anyway, so I'm sure she'll be getting under everyone's feet in no time.

A new NPC starter has appeared: Bren is in the Meadous and back in her right mind, at least for the moment. Her twin, Tren, remains Lost as far as the gods are able to tell. Bren's improved condition is thanks to Gabriel's discovery that Okota's Wheel, a totem of Instinct, can be used to reawaken godly instincts.

Time is running short for Penumbra and its gods. The world is growing increasingly unstable, with disastrous results for its residents and visitors. New NPC/Exploration prompts are available as the disaster unfolds, as well as a sandbox option for coping with this supernatural disaster.

Meanwhile, something potentially even worse has happened: Zephyr's their flock have been caught red-handed by the godling's parents. Head over to the event's Network Communications header to face the wrath of the gods!

On April 25, residents of the Meadous will wake to a note from Zephyr at their bedside. Regardless of whether or not a character can normally read, they are able to understand it, though the writing is hurried and messy.

Something really bad has happened. My brother Tren is Lost and it's making his twin sister, Bren, really sick. I can't find him, but I can hear him! I think we can still help him but I can't do it by myself. Please come to the playground as quick as you can!

While I appreciate everyone’s excitement, let’s not do that again =:(

The aetherometers and all the experimenting nearly tore the Meadous apart. I fixed it quickly as I could to make sure everyone and everything is safe.

The magic wasn’t supposed to do any of that. I hope everyone is okay! If you need anything please talk with me, I'm always here for all of you.

I’ve buried the lines much deeper now, but please let’s not do that again. I'm not mad at anyone since this wasn't supposed to happen, but we all learned not to do this kind of thing in the future.

Aleus and Ienzo have been working extra hard recently! Ienzo was telling me about what they’re doing and it sounds really interesting. The more I hear about it, the cooler it seems!

They’ve made aetherometers for everyone to help them look around the Meadous for magic in the land.

Talk to them if you want to help =:) I’m excited to see what everyone finds.

This is Madb, again, because I missed playing this lady. Although don't call her a lady, she gets confused about the whole polite vs. nobility thing and her species doesn't do nobility.

Kiziah (or Ki) is a non-human humanoid. There's a full description of her here but the main points are: She's 6'6" tall, built like a brick wall (she probably looks like she's about 220lbs, but due to heavier bones she clocks in at around 320lbs), and has thick, heavy, gnashing, tearing fangs. There's a photo-manipulation at that link, but the second she opens her mouth it's obvious she's not human.

She's from the 1830's, a parallel Earth with three sentient species instead of just one. Her people are nomads, so she doesn't even really understand most of the technology of her time (tech from the 1830's wasn't terribly portable), however that doesn't mean she's dumb. She speaks three languages fluently (Katzu, English, and French) and two at a moderate level (Japanese, and Italian). Knowledge, after all, is very portable.

What this essentially means is that players will now decide OOCly between themselves on what punishments their characters would ICly request for anything that violates the rules of the Meadous. Zephyr will technically be administering the punishment, but their involvement will be handwaved as them asking the injured party what they want done.

For anything that will affect a large number of characters (e.g., public building destruction or murder), we'd still ask that you give the mods a heads up about it so we can make sure it works. Otherwise, the leash is off and Zephyr will only be applying punishments that victims think is appropriate with a few small caveats. They will not physically injure, psychically alter, or kill anyone, even if a victim is requesting it as a punishment.

After a heated debate on the Bulletin Board/network, some ideas have emerged for changes to the current justice system in the Meadous. Voting should preferably be IC, but if your character doesn't have an opinion, feel free to make it an OOC vote. You can take the survey multiple times for different characters.

Survey closes Feb 28, 11:59 PM PST. We will announce the results and any OOC changes to the rules and how things will be functioning on Feb 29!

It's accompanied by an extra envelop, as well as a new application on everyone's communications device labeled H2H with a heart icon above it.

I hope you have a lovely day of love! I've not always got Valentine's Day right, but I think I've got it now. Tyvn, Lally, and I have been working on a new little app and we wanted to test drive it with all of you. It's got mechanical and magical components like our new network system, so bear with me while we work out any kinks.

I've got paper forms, digital forms, and ways for you to fill in profiles just via answering questions. Whatever is easiest for you. Heart 2 Heart is a new friend matcher. Or maybe a little more if you're really feeling like you want to hold your special person's hand. =;3 We're trialing it for this week. If you decide to participate, you can create a profile for yourself (or help each other)!

The profiles will be available for everyone to look at on the network OR, if you feel like coming out a bit, we'll be having a party at the Rec Center with profiles posted up around. The Stain is offering free coffee, tea, and cocoa, and I've got some couples activities planned. I hope everyone likes it! The application will try to match you up with likely friendship matches, so maybe you can make a new friend.

Late of Rhystead Abbey this is a girl raised in strict manners, yet blood and bone of the old ways. A moon child among the sun people of the Dales her tale is a tragic one and best left in the past and therapy sessions yes.

More importantly she has a few interesting abilities, not the least of which is a dark sense, she reacts, physically, to the feel o those who have done evil, ill, or even shadow touched acts. If you think that will be fun go ahead and poke me and we'll have fun! Otherwise she's a healer and herbmistress, so don't hesitate to bring your ills to her!

Coming in with one accepted bitty by the name of 7 (so far more to come maybe!), she'll be poking around in the snow before too long, really once work schedule and brain fried state allows.
