John, like Toriel and Davesprite, will be coming from a post-apocalyptic hellscape where he's spent roughly 100 days being psychologically traumatized, physically injured, and left without hot water to bathe in. Except very recently. And he was sort of in the middle of going to help people who were severely injured.

He's dressed like a hobo, and has the current list of injuries: missing his right eye, sprained right wrist, a large cut down his cheek that's been stitched closed with sewing thread, a black eye, significant bruising on his jaw and around his neck, and he's missing three teeth, but that's less immediately visible.

Anyway, he could use a place to wake up.
